Sewer System
The Alliance Sewer system averages 800,000 to 1,000,000 gallons of flow per day. For future growth the sewer pumping facilities are capable of handling triple the current flows.
Sewer Process
This is the most efficient and cost effective means of treating wastewater:
- Sewage is lifted by pumps through various areas of the City.
- Next, sewage is gravity flowed to the sewer lagoons located approximately one mile east of the Alliance Airport.
- The sewage is treated through natural biological activity in the 140 surface acres of the lagoon site.
- Surplus water is then recycled by applying the naturally treated lagoon water onto natural grasses through two center pivot systems.
