John McGhehey grew up in Topeka, Kansas and obtained a B.S. degree in Business Administration from the University of Kansas.  He moved to Alliance in February 1980 and began working for Alliance National Bank.   In 1994, First National Bank North Platte purchased Alliance National Bank and he worked for First National Bank until his retirement in February 2020.   At various times, he has served on the Board of Directors for the Alliance Area Chamber of Commerce; Box Butte Development Corporation; Box Butte General Hospital; Snow Redfern Memorial Foundation; and Kiwanis Club of Alliance.   He is currently on the Board of Directors for United Way of Western Nebraska and a member of the St. Agnes Academy Foundation and the Box Butte General Hospital Foundation. McGhehey is married (Jane); and he and his wife have four grown children and four grandchildren.  


Councilwoman Tearza MashburnTearza Mashburn, Vice-Mayor

Tearza is married to her husband Matt of 20 years and has been a member of the community for that long. Having a BS in Education, Tearza has worked or volunteered within the schools in various positions during this time.  Along with her husband, she owns and operates a small rental house business and quick service restaurant, A-Town Zesto. These ventures have expanded her knowledge base for operating in the business world and allows her to use her MBA degree.  Outside of work, she stays busy with her 2 children, their activities, and being a deaconess of her church.

Scott Yates

Scott was born and raised in San Diego, CA. After high school, he joined the United States Marine Corps where he was Honorably Discharged. He then worked for many years in the Defense and Intelligence communities in the Washington DC area, he was also deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan, and many other regions globally. He currently works for one of the nation's largest insurance brokers as a Vice President on IT.

Scott moved to Alliance in 2023 and has been visiting actively since 2013. Alliance is a place he proudly calls home and enjoys serving its citizens to see Alliance grow and flourish.  




Randy Hitchcock

Randy Hitchcock grew up in Alliance, NE as did his wife Kolinda Smith Hitchcock. They have 4 adult children all of whom have elected to call Nebraska their home, along with 13 Grandchildren and 2 great Grandchildren. Randy is a US Navy combat Veteran and served 3 tours in Vietnam. After returning home he obtained his B.S. in Computer Science and Finance. He went on to work at the City of Alliance as Utility Manager and after thirteen years, went into banking for 12 years. Moving on as project controller for Alstom in Alliance and Mare Island in CA. Finally ending his career with 14 years as Superintendent of Mechanical Operations for AMTRAK in Chicago and Oakland, CA. All while maintaining their home in Alliance. Randy has maintained his community support as a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1517, the Eagles Club and American Legion Club, and a past President of the Optimist Club.
