The Alliance Police Department consists of sixteen (16) sworn positions and six (6) civilian personnel. Patrol Assignments

An officer’s initial assignment will be to the Patrol section. They will be assigned to a Field Training Officer. The shift assignments are bid through a seniority system. A trainee will not bid a shift until the first bidding after they have completed training.

Advancement Opportunities

Promotions are made through a testing process and interview process. Officers may be eligible for promotion to Lieutenant, Sergeant, or Police Officer II.

Dispatch

The Dispatch section is comprised of a supervisor, and five (5) full-time dispatchers. The Department maintains 24-hour coverage, and personnel are divided into three shifts which are bid on once a year by seniority.
