Donations and Memorials
Different Ways to Help
Donations and memorials enable the library to grow and add to our patrons’ enjoyment.
Donations of used materials are accepted year around during regular business hours at the Alliance Public Library. Items should be clean and in good repair.
Items that may be added to our collection or used for Friends of the Library (FOL) fundraising events are especially welcome. These items include:
- Hardcover and paperback books
- Audio books on CD's and DVD's
Old textbooks and encyclopedia's will NOT be accepted.
The proceeds of FOL fundraising events are used to buy items for the use and enjoyment of all library patrons.
New Book Donations
Gifting a new book is a meaningful and lasting way to pay tribute to a person in your life for a special occasion such as a birthday, anniversary, or retirement. Contact the library at (308) 762-1387 and we will help you select a book reflecting a particular interest of the person you wish to honor.
An inscription plaque acknowledging your gift will be placed in the book. Your gift will be listed in the Memorial Book located at the front of the library.
Materials donated to the library may in many cases, be tax deductible at their present fair market value. Internal Revenue Service codes place the responsibility for estimating this value upon the donor rather than the agency receiving the gift.
Honor someone with the lasting gift of a memorial donation
Designating the Alliance Public Library for memorials in honor of a special person who has passed from your life is a lasting and meaningful way to pay tribute to that person. Cash memorial gifts are used to purchase items of lasting significance for the use and enjoyment of the Alliance Public Library patrons.
All memorial donors are listed in the Memorial Book located at the front of the library.
