Your library card allows you to check out a wide selection of library materials including adult fiction and classified books, juvenile fiction and classified books, easy fiction, reference books, large print books, books by Nebraska authors, books on career and education information, 4000 movies on DVD and books on CD. The library also is a member of the Nebraska Library Commission's Overdrive consortium.
How to Get a Card
Any adult resident of the City of Alliance may obtain a library card free. Non-residents who reside within 30 miles of Alliance may acquire a library card for a $25.00 annual fee that is valid from October 1 until September 30 of the paid year.
Proof of Identification
Proof of identification is required for adults or parents of youth. The following items are acceptable:
- Local Driver’s license
- Current Nebraska state ID
- Printed check blank
- Current utility bill
- Formal six-month lease agreement
- Military ID
The person listed as reference must be an adult who resides in Alliance's calling area, but does not live at the address of the card applicant.
The names of all immediate family members in a household may be added as authorized users of an account. Non-resident fees encompass the entire household and only one card is issued to the group or family as a whole.
