COMPUTERS: Eight computers are available for public use free of charge in the Alliance Public Library's Technology Room. All computers have Internet access and most have some combination of word processing, spreadsheet programs, and CD-ROM reference programs. The Technology Room is open during regular library hours, subject to periodic maintenance.

MICROFILM READER & PRINTER: Reads, and prints if desired, data stored on microfilm. Microfilm reader printing is $.25 per page. |

MICROFICHE READER: Reads data stored on microfiche. |

Documents can be printed at a charge of $.10 per page. Diskettes are available at the front desk for $1.00 each. |

The Alliance Public Library does not monitor and has no control over the information accessed through the Internet, and is not responsible for its contents. The Internet is a global entity with a highly diverse user population and library patrons use it at their own risk. |

PHOTOCOPY MACHINE: Copies can be made on the public photocopy machine at a cost of $.10 per page. The photocopier has the capability to increase or decrease document size and to print on regular 8-1/2 x 11 size paper or 8-1/2 x 14 legal size paper. |

All Internet resources accessible through the Library are provided equally to all library users. Parents or guardians, not the library or its staff, are responsible for Internet information selected and/or accessed by their minor children. Parents or guardiansand only parents or guardiansmay restrict their minor childrenfrom access to Internet resources accessible through the library. Parents or guardians are advised to supervise their childrens Internet sessions. |

TYPEWRITER: An electric typewriter is available for public use at no charge. It does not have a self-correction feature. Individuals must furnish their own supplies. |

READING MACHINE FOR VISUALLY IMPAIRED: The reading machine, donated by the Alliance Lions Club, is available for blind or visually impaired individuals. Any type of clear text can be placed on the machine where it can be either read to the user or enlarged so the user can read themselves. |

Library staff cannot provide in-depth training concerning Internet computer jargon or personal computer use. We may, however, be able to offer searching suggestions and answer questions. Because of library scheduling, Internet-trained staff may not always be available. |
