The Parks Division in responsible for the maintenance and care of 109 acres of park as well as the playground and athletic fields contained within these recreational areas. The park areas include 5 mini parks, 2 neighborhood parks, 2 community parks and 3 sports complexes. The sports complexes include 4 lighted softball fields, 4 lighted baseball fields, 8 lighted tennis courts and a swimming pool. Additional operations outside the park areas include snow removal in the Downtown Improvement Districts, landscaping and flower planting on Box Butte Avenue, and turf management at other municipal buildings and City owned lots. |

Central Park |
 |
Central Park is the focal point of the Alliance Parks System. This beautiful recreation area provides room for a family picnic, playground equipment, and the sunken gardens which are full of beautiful flowers for all to admire. The Central Park Fountain has been a landmark in the community since it began operating during the Great Depression. |

Shelter House Rental |

Citizens interested in renting the shelter house must complete the rental form and return it along with the required $25 damage/rental deposit to theCity Manger's Office |

 |
The Snake Creek Trail Project created a pedestrian trail connecting north and south Alliance. The Snake Creek Drainage Project was designed to clean, restore, and replant this tributary of the Snake Creek to improve drainage and enhance it's natural beauty. |

The Nebraska Dept. of Roads provided the grant funds for the Snake Creek Trail Project . The Nebraska Environmental Trust and the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality provided the grant funds for the Snake Creek Drainage and Rehabilitation project. |

Leadership Box Butte and other volunteers helped the Public Works staff in planting grasses, trees, shrubs, and flowers during the past two summers. |

Sallows Conservatory and Arboretum |
 |
 |
Sallows Conservatory and Arboretum was constructed over the former Alliance swimming pool and bathhouse. This facility has been transformed to accommodate a multitude of tropical and subtropical plants in a natural setting. The Arboretum provides an excellent educational opportunity for individuals interested in learning more about plant life. Sallows Arboretum is a part of the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum System. |

Laing Park |
 |
Located on Box Butte Ave. between 18th and Burnam Dr., Laing park is most frequently used for passive recreational activities such as walking and jogging, picnicking, nature observation, playing with children, and feeding the ducks and geese. Laing park features a disc golf course which is free to the public and an established walking and running path. |
